Today we had playgroup at Lori's house in Kennett.  I liked her house.  It smells of unfinished wood in a cabin-y kind of way.  They have an in ground swimming pool so we swam with the kids and afterwards Sebastian meticulously covered his hands and face in paint while Kellen and Sequoia looked on in an interesting mix ( Read more... )

Brain dumping what I did today, because the best way to avoid thinking about feeling crappy is to hide out in the kitchen.

• 4 quarts tart cherry pie filling
• 1 gallon of peas blanched and frozen
• 3 pints victorian rhubarb sauce
• 6 pints blueberry syrup
• 1 half pint + 3 one-cup blueberry butter

Last night, Doug and I went for a late night tromp in the upper field and made a huge spiral path in the snow.  I'm pretty sure that the wind and additional snow have smoothed it away, but it was a lovely experience.  I think there is also something very symbolic about a temporary path instead of a permanent one.  This year I really do want to get ( Read more... )
